Dr. In–Ki Joo became Deputy President in November 2016, having joined the IFAC Board in November 2012. He was nominated by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA). He chairs the IFAC Board’s Planning and Finance Committee and was appointed to the Nominating Committee in 2014.
Dr. Joo is a Professor, Emeritus, of Accounting at the Yonsei University School of Business (Republic of Korea). He was previously the Dean of the University College and the Dean of Academic Affairs at Yonsei University.
Dr. Joo is a past President of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (2009-2011). He has also served as the President of the Korean Accounting Association, as well as the President of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration. He was a member of the Advisory Committee to the General Audit Bureau in the Republic of Korea and the President of the Korean Academy of Business Ethics. He is currently a member of the board of various organizations in Korea.
Dr. Joo received the Decoration of Excellent Achievement by the President of Republic of Korea in 2004 and Honor from the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in 2001. He has also published many books, including Theory of Financial Accounting Standards, and many articles on financial accounting.
Dr. Joo earned an MBA and PhD in accounting at New York University (US) and is a member of KICPA and a former member of the American Institute of CPAs.

Mr. Manil Jayesinghe is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a member of CIPFA, with over 30 years of extensive experience in the field. He is also a Partner of Ernst & Young since 1993, working in Audit and Management Consultancy. He is also a Director/Partner of all its associate and subsidiary companies and a few other listed public companies.
Manil is a member of the Financial Reporting Faculty and the alternate Chairman of the Urgent Issues Task Force of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has presented papers on both Accounting and Auditing Standards at the Institute and has served as Group Leader at several National Conferences of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lank and also serves a member of SAFA committee on education, training and CPD.

Mr. Afeef is a graduate of London School of Economics (Master of Business Administration) and Harvard Business School (Executive Education Programme on Business Administration and Management), Afeef has previously served as the Director and Assistant Director of Training and Quality Assurance at Lux Maldives, and Training Manager at One and Only Reethi Rah in Maldives. He also led the development of Customer Service Programmes at Atlantis Palm Jumeirah.
Named amongst the 100 most influential HR personalities in the world at the World HRD Conference 2016, Afeef became the first Maldivian to receive such an honour. He is also the only John Maxwell-certified coach, trainer and speaker in the Maldives and one of the few master trainers in the country affiliated with Ron Kaufman’s Up Your Service.
Mr. Afeef is a Leadership and Motivational Speaker with International Experience in audiences such as Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, UK, USA and Hong Kong.
He is also the president of Maldives Association for Human Resources Professionals.

Shameel joined KPMG Maldives in February 2012. He has more than 15 years of experience in the provision of audit, tax and audit related services.
Before joining Maldives office, Shameel worked in KPMG Qatar for a period of 7 year and in KPMG Sri Lanka for a period of more than 4 years and he had been involved in the audits and tax of several prestigious clients in Qatar & Sri Lanka.
He has managed the audits of companies in various sectors such as banking (Conventional and Islamic), insurance (Conventional and Takaful), Hospitality, construction, real estate, retails, transportation & Logistics, manufacturing etc.
He was the engagement senior manager for audits of banks, public listed companies engaged in Insurance (Conventional and Islamic) and Real Estate sector as well as several multi-national and high profile clients.
He has participated in various training, seminars and workshops in relation to eAudit/ KPMG Methodology, IFRS/ US GAAP, Risk Management, Motivating Performance, Information skills, Banking & Insurance (Including Islamic & Takaful) etc.
Shameel has been involved in the audits of many clients operating in the takaful insurance and banking industry in Qatar, Sri Lanka and Maldives in the capacity of Senior Manager, Director and Partner.
He was the head of training at KPMG Qatar looking after IFRS and ISAs training for the staff and IFRS training for the clients.

He is also a part time lecturer for MBA programs offered by local colleges, teaching Leadership, HRM, Strategy and Enterprise Development.
Adam brings more than 20 years of community leadership and corporate experience including executive roles in Human Resources and Employee Development, as well as Teaching & Instructional leadership in a variety of entities both public and private sector.
Adam is currently a doctoral student following PhD in SHRM and a student member of John Maxwell Team. He holds a MBA from Edith Cowan University in International Business, and MSc. from National Institute of Education, in Educational Management & Leadership besides his many other qualifications in business, psychology and human resource management.

Hussain Niyazy was appointed as an Assistant Auditor General in 20 December 2011. He is currently heading the Financial Audit Division mandated with the financial audits of public sector accountable agencies and State Owned Enterprises. He is also the Chair of the Licencing and Disciplinary Committee with the responsibility for regulating the private sector audit profession. He is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) with over 15 years of experience at the AGO.

Ms. Fareeha Shareef is a founder and former Managing Partner (2010 to 2014) of FJS Associates LLP where she currently holds the position of Senior Partner. She is also a Director at FJS Consulting Pvt Ltd and has been an Independent Consultant for Adam Smith International since 2012. She also served as the Chairperson of the Bank of Maldives PLC. Prior to that, she served a term of six years as a Board Member of Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO). Ms Fareeha is also a past president of the Certified Practising Accountants of the Maldives (CPA Maldives)
Ms Fareeha has professional experience in various fields such as auditing, accountancy, financial management and governance. In addition, she has vast experience in financial modelling, banking, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and socio-economic research in the Maldives and in the international arena.
Ms. Fareeha is a Fellow Member of CPA (Certified Public Accountants, UK) and ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Ms. Mariyam Visam assumed the position of Registrar of Companies in January 2014. She also serves as the Board Director of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) concurrent to her appointment as the Registrar of Companies. Prior to her being appointed as the Registrar of Companies, Ms. Visam held key positions in financial sector during a period spanning six years; she was the Deputy CEO of CMDA and a Board Member of the Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO). During this period, she gained invaluable exposure to economic policy planning and formulation, capital market industry, the design, implementation and oversight of defined contributory pension systems, structuring financial products, risk-based supervision, rule-based supervision, securities regulation and corporate Governance.
Moreover, Ms. Visam specializes in risk management by training and contributes to the academia by facilitating training programs and undergraduate courses in the areas of corporate governance, risk management and business ethics.
MS. Visam holds a Master’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia, and BA (Hons) in Marketing Management from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK.

Mr. Mohamed Ali Janah is the Chairman of Maldives Building & Construction Board and one of the largest real estate developer in the Maldives, as the Chair of Hotels and Resort Construction Pvt Ltd. He also served as the President of the Maldives Association of Construction Industry - MACI for several terms and also serves in the Executive Board of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors' Associations - IFAWPCA, and is currently serving as the 1st Vice President. He is also the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Human Resources and Labor Migration [IFAWPCA], CEO of GA. Kooddoo Airport and Board of Director of Maldives Monetary Authority, as well as the Honorary Advisor – Pristine Islands Investment (Maldives) Pvt Ltd
Mr. Janah is an expert in construction field with over 30 years of experience and exposure in Project Conceptualization, Design, Contract Documentation, Implementation, Requirement/Scope Analysis, Quality Management, Development, Supplies and Logistics.
Mr. Janah has been awarded the National Award of Recognition in the area of Architecture, Construction and Consultancy by His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in November 2017.
